2025/2026 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) POST UTME REGISTRATION EXERCISE

The online registration for Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post-UTME screening exercise for admission into the various two (2) years (four-semester) National Diploma (ND) programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session will commence on Saturday, 2nd August 2025 and close on Friday, 5th September 2025. The following full-time ND programmes are on offer:
1.   Nautical Science
2.  Marine Engineering
3.  Electrical/Electronic Engineering
4.  Maritime Transport and Business Studies

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

  • ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

Candidates who selected Maritime Academy of Nigeria as their First (1st) Choice Institution in the 2025 UTME and scored above the required cut-off mark as stated in (2) below are eligible for post-UTME registration.

  • UTME ADMISSIBLE SCORE
  • Nautical Science -  175
  • Marine Engineering - 175
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering - 175
  • Maritime Transport and Business Studies - 160

 

  • MODES OF CORRESPONDENCE

Candidates seeking admission into the Maritime Academy of Nigeria must have a functional and accessible electronic mail (e-mail) address and a mobile phone number for correspondence. Candidates are not expected to present themselves physically, except on invitation through the Website Publication and via email/text message.

4.   O-LEVEL SUBJECTS AND UTME SUBJECTS COMBINATIONS
A:   ND Nautical Science
1)  O/Level Subjects: Applicants must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent with at least FIVE (5) CREDIT passes in O/Level subjects, which must include:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language,
  • Physics
  • Geography, and
  • Any other related science subjects obtained within the last five (5) years in NOT more than two sittings.

2) UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Geography
  • Physics

B: ND Marine Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering
1)    O/Level Subjects: Applicants must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in O/Level subjects, which must include:
-   Mathematics
-   English Language,
-   Physics,
-   Chemistry, and
-   any other related science subjects obtained within the last five(5) years in NOT more than two sittings.
2) UTME Subject Combination:
o   English Language
o   Mathematics
o   Chemistry
o   Physics

C: ND Maritime Transport and Business Studies
1)    O/Level Subjects: Applicants must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent with at least FIVE (5) CREDIT passes in O/Level subjects, which must include:
-   Mathematics,
-   English Language,
-   Economics,
-   Geography/Commerce, and
-    Any of Government, Financial Accounting, or Business Management obtained within the last five years in NOT more than two sittings.
2) UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Economics
  • Geography/Commerce/Government/Principles of Account.
  • PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL FITNESS
  •  Physical Fitness. Due to the peculiar requirements of the institution and the maritime industry as well as the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW’ 78) as amended, which mandates all seafarers to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training. Consequently, shortlisted candidates will be required to present themselves for physical and medical fitness screening when invited.
  • Medical Form. Candidates are expected to print out the Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be completed and signed before uploading to the portal.
  • Medical Test. Shortlisted candidates will undergo the following medical tests during the medical fitness screening in the Academy:

1.   PCV
2.  VDRL
3.  HBV
4.  HIV1/2
5.  FASTING BLOOD SUGAR (FBS)
6.  PT (Pregnancy Test for Females)
7.   URINALYSIS
8.   GENOTYPE
9.  BLOOD GROUP
10. DRUG/ALCOHOL TEST

  • MARITAL STATUS

Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.

  • AGE LIMIT

Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at 31st September 2025. Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at 31st September 2025

  • APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The application form is available online at: https://maritimeacademy.gov.ng. Eligible candidates should take the following steps to start the registration process:
Click on Admission HND/ND Registration Portal

  • Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password
  • Generate RRR and Print the Payment Slip
  • Proceed to any of the banks of your choice to make payment using Remita Payment Platforms
  • Return to the Academy Portal to complete your Registration.
  • COMMENCEMENT/CLOSING DATES

The application portal opens on , Saturday 2nd August 2025 and closes on Friday, 5th September 2025.
